The great Grand Canyon 'calls' for a great beer - one extraordinary beer is Samuel Adams' Boston Lager

You've got to be airborne by helicopter or plane to get a 'glimpse' of the beauty of this most interesting geological site in the U.S.

Irvin and I tested some different American brewed beer types on our 20 day 'guided' bus tour with 'American Ring Travel Inc.' across the North American continent.

In our opinion, the best American beer we could get during the journey was Samuel Adams Boston Lager, 2nd place Samuel Adams Octoberfest beer.

We got this good stuff of Samuel Adams' almost anywhere.

The Boston Lager really has a fresh, not too hoppy taste, and reminds us of German or Czech Pilsener ('Pils' lager) beers, for example: Veltins or Koenig Pilsener. Well within the alcohol range of German beers, the U.S. brewed Samuel Adams Boston Lager has 5.0 pc APV.

Well, with Samuel Adams Octoberfest beer, the brew-masters of theirs are able to compete with their respective Bavarian (Munich) counterparts in terms of original taste and color of a quite malty, but hoppy ale and freshness of a special brew for Octoberfest season.

Guys, be glad to have such a Boston-based brewery with a 1860 recipe for an extraordinary lager beer.

Now that's a compliment!

Yep, indeed, because there are some U.S. beer types Irvin and I tasted during our 20 day across U.S. & CAN tour. Some, we were barely able to recommend, such as draft Boulevard Wheat Beer (Kansas) =much too sweet in comparison to Bavarian Wheat Beers, or cans of "Handcrafted" Bohemian Brewery Viennese Lager (Mondane, Utah) = extreme sour aftertaste; real Viennese or genuine Bavarian beer-lovers would have run amok. Irvin and I discarded the stuff environmentally-friendly.

Bob Nelson.

My wife and I recently took a slow drive from Boston to Yuma. We have a rule of trying local beers, wherever we stop, and we both agree with you -- after trying at least a dozen different local beers... Sam is the best!

... and available in Yuma, thank God!
